AIN’T GONNA KISS THE ~TRAVELER~
Last night my wife watched this episode with me (season 7, “Journey’s End”, monumental racefail) and we found out that the sundae of racefail was topped with this, er, cherry of psychic time-and-space-travelling X-men interspecies sexual tension.
I explained that Wesley actually fell in love spiritual connection with the Traveler at first sight at age 16 back in season 1, so at least his decision to skip off into the interdimensional wormhole holding hands wasn’t totally unprecedented, and then we watched the other Traveler eps (I think it’s 107? “Where No One Has Gone Before” and 405? “Remember Me”).
And then I just COULDN’T BELIEVE that there was no Wesley/Traveler and I spent a really long time on Google and the ancient, dusty, unsearchable, plaintext-formatted archives of Trekiverse.org. And I found that the only surviving piece of slash about them in existence is a crossover pairing cameo thingy where the main pairing was Paris/Kim from Voyager and the only surviving copy was in the text list archives of ASCEML on Yahoo Groups. And, uh, I read it. Perhaps the less said there the better. And then I read some gen.
And now I’m seriously considering writing some…
